INSIDE-CoVE Kicks Off in Thessaloniki: Building Europe’s Future in Construction

The INSIDE-CoVE project, International Network for Sustainable and Innovative Digital Excellence in Construction Vocational Education, officially launched with a dynamic two-day kick-off meeting held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on March 11–12, 2025. The hybrid event brought together representatives from 26 partner organizations across Europe, including VET providers, universities, NGOs, and industry leaders. The meeting marked the beginning of a four-year journey to transform vocational education in the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors.

Day one opened with a warm welcome from BSIC, followed by short presentations from each partner organization. The agenda then focused on the first six work packages, covering the project’s goals, technical frameworks, and educational strategies. Highlights included discussions on digital innovation, sustainability, and inclusive training models. The day concluded with a networking dinner, fostering collaboration and engagement among participants.

On the second day, the spotlight shifted to strategic planning. Partners explored work packages seven to ten, which address local ecosystems, curriculum development, and sustainable business models. The wrap-up session summarized key tasks and deadlines, setting the stage for the next project milestones. The meeting emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation and the role of Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) in shaping future-ready construction professionals.

As the INSIDE-CoVE project embarks on its ambitious path, the Thessaloniki kick-off meeting laid a strong foundation for collaborative innovation and excellence. With a clear roadmap, diverse expertise, and shared commitment, partners are well-positioned to redefine vocational education in the construction sector across Europe.
