Leaving No Learner Behind: INSIDE CoVE Kicks Off WP4

The European construction sector is undergoing a profound transformation. Digital innovation, sustainable technologies and evolving ways of working are redefining how professionals learn, collaborate and build, while the demand for new and future-oriented skills continues to grow. INSIDE-CoVE responds by prioritizing people in this transition, with Work Package 4 serving as a central mechanism for translating this vision into practice.

WP4’s objective is to foster learning environments that are flexible, inclusive and responsive to the realities of today’s construction professionals. By addressing linguistic, technological and structural barriers, it contributes to the development of a workforce that is skilled, adaptable and better prepared for the challenges of a changing sector. Educational materials, digital environments and support systems are designed to respond to diverse learner needs, while respectful, bias-free and gender-neutral communication fosters dignity, participation and belonging. Furthermore, diversity is recognized as a strength, and particular attention is given to groups underrepresented in construction.

These commitments are reflected in a set of coordinated actions. Partners are developing practical accessibility guidelines that will help ensure training content can be used by everyone, regardless of their abilities or background. At the same time, new digital literacy resources are being prepared to support learners in confidently navigating technology-enhanced learning environment.  A broader inclusive learning framework is also being established through collaboration with community organizations and industry partners, strengthening local engagement and social responsibility. Complementing these efforts, a transversal skills learning module will offer flexible micro-learning opportunities that support lifelong professional development.

Together, these efforts demonstrate that innovation and inclusion can progress hand in hand, supporting a more accessible and resilient construction workforce where no learner is left behind.
